Broad Function:
|
Under the supervision of the school principal, the Team Leader provides effective leadership for his/her interdisciplinary team and the entire staff. In addition, the Team Leader facilitates interdisciplinary and instructional team meetings, provides professional development and parent and student communication, ensures that team minutes are submitted to the Principal, serves as a liaison between the team and the Principal, and assists in the monitoring of 504, SRBI process and procedures, and Special Education accommodations and/or modifications.

Responsibilities and Duties:
|
- As the Team Leader you are responsible for:
- a. Student meetings: Arranges and conducts Team meetings with students and Team members to review academics and/or behavioral concerns/progress. All minutes submitted to the Principal and/or House Asst. Principal weekly and posted in the Team folders for reference.
- b. Parent meetings: Coordinates and schedules parent team meetings with parents. All minutes submitted to Principal and/or House Asst. Principal weekly.
- c. Planning meetings: Coordinates and oversees the development. All minutes submitted to the Principal and/or House Asst. Principal weekly.
- Delegates roles and responsibilities of other team members (time keeper, facilitator, record keeper). Takes action to ensure that accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
- Maintains meeting norms, protocols and staff attendance.
- Takes action to coordinate the involvement of school support personnel (administration, ESS, SBHC, SEL, school psychologist, school social worker) for work to be done. Reports to the school principal when assistance is needed.
- Coordinates Team activities (i.e., parent/teacher conferences, field trips, field day, etc.).
- Sets and submits weekly agenda and meeting minutes to the Principal and/or House Asst. Principal.
- Meets and responds to the Principal as requested or needed (on average, one hour after school). Manages time effectively to ensure compliance with the same.
- Attends School Data Team meetings as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or House Asst. Principal

Qualifications and Experience:
|
- Active teaching certification required.
- The Team Leader must have an interest and ability to lead a team in a direction commensurate with our school and district mission and current trends in middle school education (i.e., differentiated instruction, reading across the disciplines, professional development, data-driven decision making, inclusion of students with disabilities into general education, providing instructional and behavioral interventions for students, teacher evaluation and support) and a total program suitable for young adolescents.
- This position is open to all interested staff. Successful applicants must possess a strong commitment to successful implementation of the District Strategic Operating Plan, School Improvement Plan, and Safe School Climate Plans/Models as well as a strong work ethic and willingness to participate in professional development.
